1. When I was a kid, I don't know, middle school or something, there was a show on sometime in the middle of the afternoon that may have been called something along the lines of "Carson's Comedy Classics," or maybe I'm just using another memory of an informercial to give it that title. Anyway, that was one of the shows I'd make an effort to tune into for my time in front of the tv in the afternoon. It was maybe a half hour of clips from The Tonight Show, a lot of the silly sketches Carson used to do, some interviews. Funny stuff. In those days I didn't get to catch the show much at night, as I had a bedtime.
2. When I got a tv for my room for Christmas one year, the best thing about it was that I could watch The Tonight Show when I went to bed.
3. I always remember on Christmas breaks and summer breaks to a lesser extent, I wouldn't have such a restrictive bedtime, and that meant I got to stay up and watch Carson, and if I was lucky I'd be up for part of Letterman too.
4. My grandpa kind of looks like Johnny Carson.
5. Caught the end of Dateline last night on NBC and they were doing a Jonny Carson tribute. They were showing some clips from his last show and I couldn't help but cry a little bit.
