If I were looking for something to depress me, and I'm not, but if I were, this could be it:

I was thinking the other night about people going back to school pretty soon, and how I'm going back to work pretty soon. Tomorrow morning, in fact. And it occurred to me that soon I'll start delivering pizzas to a brand new bunch of freshmen at the college, which means that this will be the third group of new freshmen I'll start delivering pizzas to since I moved up here, which means the people who were just starting school when I started delivering up here are not Juniors. I guess that sort of makes me a Junior. Actually, if you consider that I did this for a year in Utah before I moved up here I'm a Senior. Guess I've got to graduate from this job sometime. Of course I was at Matrixx long enough to earn a Ph.D. in phone answering and dealing with bullhit, so I wouldn't count on any miracles happening. But who knows. Like I said, if I were looking for something to depress me, that would be it. But it's not getting to me, really. It's just the same old thing. No big deal.

I feel nervous about going back to work tomorrow. I have no idea why. I think I'd feel more comfortable if I had my car back and didn't have to rent for the weekend, but eventually I will. Eventually life will get back to normal. I think I've just let the bizarreness of this summer become the new normal, and now normal will feel bizarre. Whatever. Okay, that's it.
